RNLI - CCTV

Prior to the life boat crew at Donaghadee taking delivery of their new Trent Class all weather boat, we were approached with the task of providing CCTV coverage of it's berth, with live pictures to be recorded some 120m inland at the life boat station.

The solution we offered included the use of a marine standard static Mic1-300 camera, short-range radio link and digital recorder. The Donaghadee lighthouse was chosen as the most suitable vantage point.

Prior to installation commencing, Irish Lights who are the custodians of the building and Donaghadee Harbour Heritage Committee, required details of the proposed works and their possible impact upon this grade-one listed building.

To that end we consulted closely with all interested parties and adopted installation methods sympathetic to the building’s character. These included the use of an existing cable conduit, equipment mounted on clear Perspex bracketry and the provision of a compact and visually unobtrusive camera.
